The Castrol TRW MOTOINTEGRATOR crew Oleksowicz/Obrebowski finished Wales Rally GB in the 4th place among SWRC competitors. The Polish duo grabbed 12 valuable points.
After covering over 1600 km including 325 km of timed sections, Oleksowicz and Obrebowski finished the 6th round of SWRC. All competitors crossed the finish line in almost exact order as after Day 1.
Maciek Oleksowicz:
- We’re glad to be at the finish. We’re happy to score some precious points, even if I’m aware our pace was to satisfactory enough. We’ll do our utmost to be much faster at French tarmac. Wales Rally GB was a good lesson for us. We faced lots of adventures. Especially during Day 1 we were lucky to reach the service despite broken suspension in the front right section. The route was pretty much difficult, especially the Friday’s and Saturday’s stages were treacherous. The were lots of stones at the edges. One had to be careful not to cut the corners. The number of broken and ripped off wheels was very high. On the other hand, during Day 2 we faced beautiful wide stages with deep cuts, where one could drive flat out. The weather was not British wise. Basically it was dry with some damp parts. We didn’t face heavy showers and fog. I believe due to the date change it was not a typical Wales Rally GB. We were disappointed with a low number of spectacors. It is very tight in the top of SWRC point chart. With two rallies remaining there is less than 11-point margin between top four drivers.
