That’s how many points the crew Oleksowicz and Obrębowski scored in the SWRC classification. In order to obtain this impressive result to their credit both Poles had to get as many as 1564.26 km of roads of Rally Portugal behind them, including 434.77 km of special stages fought in ever-changing and truly demanding conditions. Actually, it was so difficult that many crews failed to reach the finish or recorded serious delays due to all sorts of problems. All in all, the crew of the Castrol TRW MOTOINTEGRATOR team finished the Rally Portugal on 2nd place in SWRC and ranked 18th in general classification. The points scored improved the standing of Polish crew in this season – Oleksowicz and Obrębowski advanced from 6th to 3rd place.
Maciej Oleksowicz:
– We have just reached the finish of the longest rally we had ever participated in. Following fours days of fight on gravel, in mud, in the rain and fog we can say this was really a very tough rally. We owe our thankfulness to the team of our technicians. Our car was one of the few to complete the event in good condition, with no major mechanical troubles or breakdowns. We are definitely going to work to improve our times because we admit the result we’ve got partially stems from our rivals’ misfortunes. On the other hand, however, it is also a sort of an ability to maintain regular and safe pace and to steer clear of mistakes. We are happy to score this result and precious points.
