Oleksowicz and Obrebowski representing Castrol TRW MOTOINTEGRATOR team were forced to retire from Rally France due to fuel leak caused by broken fuel tank.

The Polish duo spotted an fuel leak on Friday evening during the Mulhouse (4,65 km) special stage, which ended the leg. The leak was so intense, that continuing the rally was extremely risky. There was a danger of fire and total damage of the car. The team decided to retire from Friday’s leg and tried to repair the car to be ready for Saturday morning.

Maciek Oleksowicz:

- We reached the service park right before midnight. The mechanics had no less than three hours to fix the car. However, after the 30 minutes we were aware the nightmare came true. The leak was caused by a broken fuel tank, which had to be replaced. Unfortunately both us and even M-Sport did not have a spare one. Because of that we were forced to retire. I regret the points we could gain in SWRC as well as French special stages which we really enjoyed. We’d like to thank our fans for true support. We’ll do our utmost to have a good result in Catalunya.

Castrol TRW MOTOINTEGRATOR occupied 5th place in SWRC right before retirement. Rally France was the first ever SWRC round where Oleksowicz and Obrebowski didn’t score any points.
